River Crossing Parkway Study

About the Study

FAMPO is working towards an eventual National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) certification of a preferred alternative and funding applications for a river crossing bridge and parkway west of I-95, across the Rappahannock River. This new crossing would provide direct access between Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg and would serve to alleviate congestion for local traffic.

Consultants, Michael Baker International (MBI), will conduct a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) alternatives study for the various crossing alternatives.

Review further information on this page to learn more about the study and its progression. Questions about the study should be sent to John Ridout at john.ridout@gwregion.org.
