The study was adopted November 24, 2025 with Resolution 26-28.

Update: October 20th, 2025 – Public Comment: The Draft Final Report closed November 19th 2025.

Update: On June 16, 2025 – The Policy Committee Adopted Option C as the Locally Preferred Corridor with the passage of Resolution 25-50. The consultants, Michael Baker International (MBI) will begin final development of the study document with design concepts and additional cost estimates.

 FAMPO is working towards an eventual National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) certification of a preferred alternative and funding applications for a river crossing bridge and parkway west of I-95, across the Rappahannock River. This new crossing would provide direct access between Stafford County and the City of Fredericksburg and would serve to alleviate congestion for local traffic.

Consultants, Michael Baker International (MBI), will conduct a Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) alternatives study for the various crossing alternatives.
